A protest by locals and cow vigilantes in Mathura’s Kosi area turned violent after a ‘Gau Rakshak’ was allegedly run over by cattle smugglers. The situation escalated in Chhata with stone-pelting at police, resulting in injuries to personnel and locals, and vandalism of police vehicles.
