Civil rights icon Rev. Jesse L. Jackson, a close associate of Martin Luther King Jr., has died at 84 after battling Parkinson’s and progressive supranuclear palsy. Jackson, a two-time presidential candidate, dedicated over five decades to fighting for voting rights, jobs, education, and racial equality, founding Operation PUSH and the Rainbow/PUSH Coalition.
